DIMECC’s co-creation ecosystem One Sea seeks Nordic and global partners to join theresearch collaboration. One Sea aims to create a new industrial standard for marine traffic and to lead the way towards an active commercial autonomous shipping ecosystem in the Baltic Sea by 2025. The digitalization of marine traffic will create new opportunities for the whole marine industry and pave the way for new business ventures and models, spanning commercial and passenger traffic to raw material freight and cargo handling.

Päivi Haikkola is currently heading One Sea – Autonomous Maritime Ecosystem. Päivi has a long history of working with marine related companies. She started her career in the nineties consulting and meeting marine customers around the world. Since then she has worked with various strategic development projects in the pulp & paper and telecommunications industries apart from her many assignments in the marine industries. She has spoken at numerous conferences and seminars on various topics and has been asked to join international maritime awards panels.

 Päivi has held several administrative positions in the past and worked both at shipyards and suppliers to the marine industry. Among other positions, she has previously worked as Head of R&D, Marketing Director and Administrative Manager, she has also acted as a board member. Päivi holds a Master’s Degree in Economics (Business Administration) and Naval Architecture.

Jukka Merenluoto is a co-leader of One Sea – Autonomous Maritime Ecosystem. He has a lengthy background in ICT industry where he has been heading digitalization programs and strategically important change initiatives in several companies in various industries including telecom, manufacturing, energy (oil), and maritime. Earlier in his career, he influenced in technical roles in software development, architecture design and enterprise architecture. Recently he has worked in business consulting and director positions to facilitate innovation and business development.

Jukka holds a Master’s degree (Computer Science). He is also MBA graduate from Henley Business School.
